BRTA is responsible
for the promotion of road safety and traffic regulations,
the licensing of drivers and the registration of vehicles
in Bangladesh. BRTA is also responsible for the planning
and maintaining the public transport route network
and thus providing a safe and smooth traffic flow
in Bangladesh.
